Weight Management

varos

Weight management includes three directions: weight loss, weight maintenance, and weight gain. In each direction the nutritional approach is different.

A medical assessment index helps us understand where everyone belongs. This is the Body Mass Index (BMI), which correlates a person’s weight and height in a formula, thus calculating whether their weight is healthy in relation to their height. It is a simple and reliable indicator of body fat for most people and is used to define weight categories that may lead to health problems, thus contributing to the prevention and management of obesity and related conditions.

Body Mass Index (BMI)
Underweight:
<18,5
Normal:
18,5-24,9
Overweight:
25-29,9
Obese:
>30

Therefore, weight loss is targeted at individuals with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 25kg/m2, , maintenance is for individuals within the range of 18,5 to 24,5Kg/m2 and weight gain is for individuals below 18,5Kg/m2

Our goal is to maintain a healthy weight for every body type.

This simple method of calculating Body Mass Index (BMI) is considered reliable and internationally recognized. However, it does not take into account key factors such as bone structure or muscle mass. For example, if someone is muscular and exercises, their BMI may overestimate body fat, while a loss of muscle mass could lead to an underestimation of body fat. For more individualized results, we apply high-precision body composition analysis using the Bioelectrical Impedance method
